The Flying Cupcake - Greenwood

I decided to try out a new place for my birthday celebration and ordered six cupcakes: four vanilla and two chocolate, along with a "humiliating bird" (which I'm guessing might have been a cake decoration?). Unfortunately, I was really disappointed. I should have realized that the cupcakes wouldn’t be great when I couldn’t smell any butter or vanilla. The cake itself was very dry and didn’t taste homemade at all; it lacked any distinct flavor. The frosting reminded me of vegetable shortening mixed with sugar - not enjoyable at all. The place was poorly lit, and the staff wasn't friendly. Overall, my experience was unsatisfactory, and I have no plans to return, regardless of any future offerings.

This place was fantastic! I called in my order for pickup, and everything went perfectly. The cake was absolutely delicious—I ordered the caramel cake for my birthday, and it was a hit! I also had some cupcakes, which were just as tasty! The service was outstanding. It's the ideal spot for a sweet treat or a celebration.

I visit the Flying Cupcake every year for family birthdays since it opened in Greenwood, and the cupcakes have always been delightful! However, I had a very disappointing experience with the service on March 11, 2023. The girl at the counter was unfriendly and did not greet us. When I politely mentioned that she should let us know when we were ready to order since she was busy restocking the cupcakes, she rolled her eyes and responded in a snarky manner. I typically make an effort to be friendly with staff, as I work in customer service myself, and I usually leave a generous tip regardless of the situation. However, her attitude upset both my friend and me, especially considering the place was almost empty. I'm very disappointed, especially as a loyal customer who has never encountered such poor service before.

It is not a child-friendly place to choose a cake. They had no photo that could help a child understand what she got. After I had made mistakes not to see, and woman at checkout did not tell me that they did not make a refund, although I went out the door and returned directly. would not have lost money because nothing has been done you have no refund policy. So 6 was 75. After she had to call to see if it was okay after her mistake, but after 2. Person on the phone I told them to keep money, not even pick up cake I ordered. My child is sick, I wanted to make sure she had a good experience. Hopefully the next person will help before they make the same mistake. Btw upset me to cry back to cashier.

This is the second time we’ve been here. Their cupcakes are amazing! They are expensive, but the cupcakes are twice the size of a normal cupcake so you get your money’s worth.
