Trattoria Giorgio - Greenville

What a gem this place is! My daughter and I were able to walk in Friday evening after trying to decide where to go between several different places. Trattoria Giorgio had been recommended by the Westin Poinsett’s concierge on a previous trip, but my husband and I weren’t able to get reservations that time. I am so glad my daughter and I were more fortunate on this trip. We ate on the patio, which is more like a secret garden tucked into a quiet nook rather than on a pedestrian-friendly street. (See photo. I wasn’t thinking about leaving a review that evening, so I neglected to take a photo of our food. I had the filet with balsamic glaze, medium rare, and it was one of the finest steaks I’ve ever tasted. My daughter had the shrimp and pasta, and she raved about it as well and had to take half of it home—the portion was enormous. We both had a glass of wine, and the server took the time to help me choose since I rarely drink. He was knowledgable and his choice for me was perfect! We finished off the meal with the tiramisu, and it was delicious. We left stuffed and completely satisfied and looking forward to future visits.

We went to Trattoria Giorgio after our wedding day for dinner and it was a great experience. The food was delicious. Our server Chuck was the best! Even if we had no reservation and the restaurant was full, he found a place for us and served us the best way! Political, attentive, competent! We enjoyed every second of our stay. Ends up order this night. It was delicious!!

Great service and authentic Italian food. Good wine list that is very well appreciated. Menu is not extensive and not much of the option for menu changes. But what on the menu is excellent. Pasta is all made house and made very good. Reservations are recommended.

One of the best ribeyes I’ve ever had and my wife’s salmon was better than we had in Alaska. We ate at the bar because when I called at 5pm I was told that was all that was available. Most excellent bartender and exceptionally friendly. All tables but one were empty when we arrived at 5:15. We were offered a table, but after we were already nestled at the 4-seat bar so we declined, out of respect to the bartender. The dining room never did fill up. Not sure why whoever answered told us that. If it was the bartender, KUDOS for his resourcefulness. If not, why the ruse? Good experience in any case. 5 score.

Food was amazing. I would highly recommend. Facility was clean and well kept. The windows were all spotless which exhibits a well-run restaurant. The pasta bolognese was the best Italian dish I have ever eaten. Bread was perfect. Staff was attentive.
