Trappe Door - Greenville

If you like Belgian beer and fantastic food, good... Go to Trappe Door! Our whole food was amazing! And the shells, oh man, the shells!! Superb! I had the beautiful duck breast. Phenomena! Then there's the beer! As I mentioned above, if you love Belgian beer, this is a must to visit!!! Get a bottle of Cantillion if you want to splash. If you want a lot to splash, I suggest St. Bernardus ABT12. Just go here, eat here and drink here.

It is on the pricier side if this is a concern, but the quality is there. The staff is always beautiful, and while it is not 5 star service, we never had problems. I would encourage everyone to experience this place at least once.

We enjoyed an excellent dinner. The food, service, and atmosphere were all above expectations. We paced ourselves, and were not rushed either to order or to exit. The mushroom appetizer was very good, although too salty. The side salad was a wonderful combination of texture and flavors. The duck was good, although probably the weakest part of our dinner. The chocolate torte to finish was marvelous, although too late in the evening to enjoy a cup of coffee with it. The atmosphere in the basement is very nice, with the massive wood beams doing an excellent job of absorbing sounds from neighboring tables. This is one of my favorite restaurants in downtown Greenville!

One of the best restaurants I’ve been to in this life. It was apparent why they’re fully booked on reservations most days of the week with people lining up before opening to sit at the bar. Server was incredibly attentive, gave awesome recommendations and explanations on the drink list and menu. Beer was wonderful, appetizers were heavenly, and we had one of the best ribeye steaks we’ve tasted. Next time we’re in town, definitely going back to try more!

Take a flight of steps down to this great spot for Belgian beers. Only stayed for a drink but the food looked great as well. The bar was a great atmosphere to sit in. Bartenders were really nice and ready to give a recommendation if you needed one. Update: went back for dinner and it was great! All the food options looked good and I went with the seafood waterzooi. Delicious!
