Highland Lodge - Greensboro

I regret that I do not have any pictures of the amazing dinner and cocktails my husband and I enjoyed. Elsa was fantastic! She impressed us with the vodka-infused blueberry lemonade to start, followed by the delicious spinach artichoke sticks as an appetizer - creamy, gooey, and amazing! For my main course, I had the beet green salad with pickled goodies and a tasty blueberry dressing, alongside the scallion/spring pea ravioli that was lemony and buttery. Yum! My husband opted for the arugula salad and the special rack of lamb with quinoa. The portions were just right and our meals were absolutely perfect. We are looking forward to attending Margarita Monday at least once this summer. The staff was incredible (special thanks to Elsa for the friendly conversation and bubbly personality). I had to leave after just one day at this restaurant on a work retreat, but I wish I could have stayed longer. The place was so lovely, and I had a great night's sleep. The breakfast was delicious, with fresh ingredients, and the gluten-free blueberry cobbler was amazing! I would give the rooms, service, and location all a 5 out of 5 rating. The highlights of the hotel are the great view, romantic atmosphere, and peaceful surroundings.

Before making my reservation, I had a question that was promptly answered. From that point on, everything was smooth sailing! Our room was impeccably clean, the front desk staff were friendly and helpful, and the overall experience was fantastic. Breakfast was both peaceful and delicious. The breakfasts here were fabulous! Imagine bread pudding french toast with vermont maple syrup, raspberry donut cake, fresh fruit, eggs , bacon, local smokehouse sausage, homemade yogurt with granola, variety of juices, and delicious craft coffee! Just to name a FEW of our favorites. Honestly, we'd return just for the breakfast. But if you need a total reset- complete rest, no tv, the great outdoors, and a beautiful lake, this is the spot.
