Blimpie - Green River

I had no idea that Blimpie was still around! It felt a bit surreal, like something out of the Twilight Zone. The food was surprisingly good. While it's definitely gas station-style fast food, so I can't give it four stars, I would definitely choose to eat here again.

When I placed my order, the staff seemed unsure about the ingredients in each type of sub I requested. I'm not sure if they were new or just unfamiliar with the menu, but I had to explain what was included in the different subs I wanted. Overall, the subs turned out to be quite good.

I remember Blimpie being known for its soft bread, but during this visit, the white bread fell short. It was crumbly and the texture was less than appealing, almost as if it had been left out for a while. Additionally, the meatballs didn't match my memories of the past, and my daughter wasn’t as enthusiastic about the quality compared to other meatball subs she’s had. On a positive note, my wife really enjoyed her Buffalo Chicken sub on Jalapeno Cheddar bread. What truly stood out during our visit was the amazing staff. They were friendly and attentive, and it was refreshing to see they weren’t annoyed with us coming in right before closing time, which can sometimes happen at other places. Overall, our experience was good; there wasn't anything too drastic to complain about. With my familiarity with this franchise, I understand that it can deliver better than what we received this time, particularly regarding the bread. However, the excellent customer service certainly made up for it. I'm hoping this was just a one-time issue and not indicative of a pattern. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone passing through, and even to local residents, although I suspect the small town, with under 1,000 people, has probably tried it at least once.

The sandwiches are fantastic! We were a little nervous because it is in an older gas station. But it was very clean, the staff was very friendly and the quality was great! The bread was extremely soft and delicious. Glad we chose to stop!

Blimbie has awesome bread. Staff made me a nice spicy Italian. Friendly people, my only issue (and goes for all Blimpies) is the meats are of cheaper quality than Subway or Firehouse, but similar to Jimmy Johns.
