Rude service beginning with a manager, is never a good sign when it comes to customer service. I would like to start on a positive note however, by advising that the wait staff, chef, and cooks within the restaurant of this establishment are kind, friendly, helpful, efficient, hardworking, and professional. Other than the that however, you can expect to encounter a rude manager by the name of Caroline, and an impatient and unfriendly/non-customer oriented female receptions/booking reservations staff member. I rang up this establishment to provide my feedback about the bookings/restaurant reservations experience encountered at the receptions desk, located to the right of the front entrance doors. The female staff member would not stand up from her chair, sat through the whole entire inquiry and bookings/reservations process, and was rushed and in a hurry to take our reservation for the restaurant. When I called to give my feedback about this, I spoke to Caroline the manager to provide feedback on the experience about the seated greeter at the reception desk. Caroline basically invalidated my claim, stating that this was not offensive. I was advising Caroline that this is not customer-oriented and customer friendly approach towards any customer who walks to the receptions/bookings area to make a reservation, as is the case with all customer-facing encounters (regardless of industry). Greeters should stand up to speak at eye-level with the customer. As a manager, Caroline should know this, since she works in the hospitality industry. In fact, there is no receptions/desk personnel that I have encountered before that sits through an entire bookings/reservations process from the hello to the good bye stage of the entire conversation. It is rude, unprofessional and shows a lack of willingness to provide exceptional customer service. This establishment needs to work on providing customers with a friendly, customer-oriented manager, as well as a friendly, helpful and kind reception/bookings staff member. Active listening skills should never be underestimated. Lastly, in terms of sustainability, the restaurant has minimal offerings when it comes to fruits on offer at the restaurant, whilst the vegetables on offer are well-prepared and cooked, there is no mention as to whether these are sustainably-sourced from organic farmers or suppliers. Moreover, there is no mention as to whether the seafood (prawns, mussels or salmon are wild-caught or farmed). As an ethical eater, this is very important. The facial tissues/napkins used are of the non-sustainable kind, the type that are not made from recycled, sustainably-sourced paper. Hope that this is helpful to anyone seeking to avoid people working in management and reservations/receptions staff who are rude, unempathetic and discourteous. It is such a shame that certain members of staff can let the whole team down. I sincerely hope that the kind and hardworking wait staff, cooks, and chef within the restaurant area are not treated in this way by their own manager, otherwise this would only lower the general morale of the entire workplace.
Very disappointed about the treatment of your customers by The Manager Caroline. She’s a racist, she’s rude and doesn’t respect the customers. We were there for a birthday party and we asked to move tables from a waitress who said we could. This Caroline came screaming at us on top of her voice and made us out to be liars. She refused to listen to us and insulted us calling us liars. She did not act in a professional manner. As long as she’s there, I will never go back there. She was so rude and angry as if we had done something terribly bad. Not a good way to treat customers.
I went to this restaurant for a surprise birthday dinner and when we couldn't fit at the table, we asked to move to a larger one. The manager insulted us and yelled at us, calling us liars. She even used racist language in front of our children. It was a terrible experience for all of us, including the kids. We will not be returning.
I had a pleasant surprise at this beautiful motel in SE Melbourne. It is conveniently located just off the main freeway but is surprisingly quiet. The room was spacious, well-appointed, and very clean. The fee includes a continental breakfast pack in your room. The staff were professional and attentive, accommodating my request for a late checkout. There is a popular restaurant/bistro on site for lunch and dinner, which offers a buffet lunch with a variety of roasts, Asian dishes, and desserts. I was informed that the hotel only accepts business/corporate guests, so it may not be suitable for leisure travelers. However, I will definitely be returning in the future.
The 3-course selection was lovely. Mains was everything from seafood to roast meat, salads veges. For desserts there was hot cold puddings. Soup was also available.
