We truly felt welcome and they kept checking if we were happy with the food, wanted to order any more food or drinks. Most importantly the food was amazing. My husband ordered a steak and it's the best steak I have ever tasted. I was satisfied with my garlic prawns order. I didn't disappoint hubby for taking him here for his birthday. A bit pricey but it is worth it. Will sure return.
The venue is good with a bar for drinks before going through to the restaurant. The service was good and the meal off the regular menu was good. They also have a SECRET MENU which really is crazy because everyone knows about it as it's on all these sites you read reviews on and 4 people mentioned before I got to the restaurant. I asked the waitress who laughed as she agreed it wasn't that secret and really only added a couple of burgers to the offering! However she did mention you need to ask for it or she couldn't give it out.Should maybe keep this thriller for a opening week kind of thing!!
We had 16 people, entrees great but 2 $37 ribs were inedible. 1 had no sides, were sent back uneaten. Both refunded. A $40 steak came w/out the veg, came after meal. lumpy mash. Med chicken was terrible and cold. Souvlaki awful. I used to love this place. Always had good food in the past. Very embarrassing as I organised the event. Have given 2 stars as 6 of us enjoyed the food. 5 were satisfied. Such a shame.
Dandenong Pavilion, the place for commission housing people to go when they get their end of financial year payout and want to feel rich. If you are a real hardworking person used to the finer things in life wanting a $50 steak. Do NOT go here. This is partially my fault when I got the invite from a family member stating the night was in Dandenong I should have cut and run right there. But I gave it a chance. Bad idea!! 5 couples were in our group all had some problem happen with their meal. My husband and I's outlay for the night was $320. Not including the others. I ordered a $41 steak that on the menu only came with asparagus, so i paid an extra $7 for mashed potato. Meal arrived and the steak was tiny and missing the asparagus. The $7 mashed potato was not mashed. I Asked for my asparagus, which arrived after I had nearly finished and not cooked. No recompense was offered. Or were we asked if everything was ok. I ordered the most expensive glass of red ($10.90) 20 mins before meal arrived and let it sit for maximum enjoyment with the steak. I could not explain to you the different notes of the wine as it tasted like ordinary Eaglehawk. Usually We will go out to dinner and pay between $39 and $70 for a steak which always comes with either chips or mash and that meal fills me (with my husband finishing my steak) I had to leave and get Mcdonalds. When you have spent over $300 at a restaurant plus 50 for dinner for the kids and babysitter. $50 in babysitting fees. And then $20 at macdonalds. You can see why I am disgusted. To be honest I knew from the get go Anywhere in Dandenong was a bad idea. If you want to go out for dinner for a nice night, Do not waste your money slumming it here. Take yourself to a real restaurant. This one is a poser. Just because you watch Masterchef and can afford rent in Dandenong does not make you upscale. Reel yourself in guys and get back in your place.
The view was absolutely amazing and the area was worth walking around. The restaurant was a bit disappointing as they asked us to wait for 45 minutes and were quite rude until we complained to the manager. This left a bit of a sour taste in the mouth
