Muse - Great Yarmouth

Booked meal in Muse restaurant online after it offering us many options, to arrive and be told that it was not in restaurant as it was closing and that we had to be quick in ordering food as kitchen closed, Not the service we expected nor what we had booked for our anniversary. The young lady apologised and said she will get website booking system looked into. Very disappointed and Not how we planned our anniversary meal left unfed and extremely angry, won't book again.

We have visited this restaurant, many, many times. However, lunch yesterday was let down by the standard of cleanliness re; the vinegar bottle. I had already used it placed it back on the table when I saw the disgusting state of the sprinkler. I had not used much on my fish, so consumed that, but I could not stomach the vinegar soaked chips. I pointed it out to Diogo, our server, when he cleared the table. He could not have been more apologetic when the bill arrived, we were not charged for our wine, beer or coffee. We would rather have paid the full price, without being grossed out by what I might have inadvertently consumed.

This is a mixed review of Muse Restaurant. My partner had found this restaurant and booked a table before we left for our weekend away. I checked out the website and menu before we went and was very excited and was looking forward to some fine dinning food, that I can say the food we had was certainly not fine dining, or what I saw that others were having. I think I would have had a better meal at a Hungry Horse pub!! The website gives the impression it also has extensive cocktail menus and again it was the standard list of about 10ish. My partner ordered Filet Steak and said it was lovely and he was most pleased, I ordered a surf and turf, when arrived no turf and my steak was awful, was cooked well done and I asked for Med-rare and almost tasted like washing up liquid, complained and had a whole new plate and again was not a nice steak. The presentation of the plate was again standard, so for me not the best meal. The place is lovely, very stylish and if weather was nice the outside and views would be amazing. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

The food at this restaurant is fantastic, the service is great, and the staff are welcoming and friendly. Charlee is exceptional and accommodating in every way (deserves a promotion), while Emily excels at folding napkins and providing top-notch customer service. Oh, and the food is pretty good too. Have a wonderful time!

On a busy week in August I don 't expect amazing service or food, but this was very poor For a start one one our party was vegetarian, and with only 2 veggie starters on the menu its not great when they have already run out of one and have no alternative Secondly the service was very poor, our waitess was very friendly, took out orders and then disappeared never to be seen again. Starters took 40 mins to come, mains another hour after that. No one ever asked us how our meal was, or if we wanted anymore drinks. Whilst the starters weren 't too bad the mains were not good at all. My main course pear, walnut and stilton salad was basically a plate of rocket, no dressing and a tiny bit of stilton, minute pieces of walnut snd 3 huge slices of pear. The mixed seafood salad was so bad that my daughter couldn 't eat it...the seafood had not been cleaned properly and it was inedible After waiting 10 mins for any waiting staff, I finally managed to get the bill. When asked was everything ok I mentioned the poor service and inedible main, and the answer was oh I do apologise , with absolutely no effort to rectify matters. Its a shame because its a nice venue and could be really good...but we will not eat there again. And I would suggest others approach it with caution
