I live in Yarmouth and myself and my wife eat here a few times a week at least and pop in most days for a coffee and pastries. The owners Maria and Luis are excellent and the food is allways and i mean allways good....They have become very good friends and have also taught me some Portuguese too we love them both to bits. Well done for the best food in town.
We went there for a meal and the grilled meats are the best on the area (Portuguese style grill). For a starter we had the grilled Portuguese sausage and that was great as always.
This resturant was recommend to us by our Guest House hosts,we tried it on our first night, then went back another 4 times, the variety and quality of the food was amazing. The meat's and chicken are barbecued and taste Devine, we can certainly recommend...this place. I believe it's now called Bar and Bistro
I've often driven past this bar/bistro and always thought it looked nice, but for some reason had never ventured inside. My children were playing at the park opposite and we noticed that they were open ALL day so we decided to escape the British weather...and popped in for a hot chocolate. We sat at a window table with a perfect view of St.George's park. There was seating both inside and outside. Wow, what have we been missing!? We loved this place! It has an authentic Mediterranean feel, from the décor to the menu that is served. It was a real mix of Portuguese and English. The owners were lovely, so friendly and accommodating. We ordered 2 delicious hot chocolates and tried a Portuguese cake each (not sure of the name), these were to die for, they had just come out of the oven, so were crisp puff pastry on the outside and warm almondy deliciousness on the inside! Prices were very good, with lots of choice of drinks for the children and a well stocked bar including Portuguese beer. Despite the weather the children decided they wanted an ice lolly and we were surprised to discover we could get those here too! They had Calippo's, Feasts and Magnums. We weren't intending on eating, but a gentleman came in and ordered food to take away and it looked delicious, so we thought we would do the same and we weren't disappointed! The chicken is cooked over a fire (think Nando's style) and was served with chips, rice and salad. Large portions, good value, fresh and tasty. This really is a little known gem! So it doesn't matter what you want...just coffee and cake, a drink with your friends, a family meal or a delicious takeaway you can get it all here. We are looking forward to going back to try more from the menu.
