Marine Fishery - Great Neck

When you hear hidden gem , this place is it! Marine Fisheries has to be one of the longest operating retail stores in Great Neck, and for good reason! The owner (Charlie) is extremely particular and fussy when it comes to picking the highest quality fish. His commitment to going to the market daily and hand picking each fish is unmatched. Make the time to find this local gem and get to know your next favorite fish retailer!

You won't find fresher fish anywhere else. The fried soft-shell crabs are absolutely the best! Everything is always fresh!

I would prefer to pay more and eat less than to question the quality of the seafood. I appreciated that the menu items were clearly labeled, and I was pleased to notice there was no fishy smell when I entered the store. I avoid "farm-raised" seafood. The staff was friendly as well. I highly recommend this place.

A few things to note: they are open on Saturdays, but they don’t go to the Fulton Fish Market on that day, so their selection is limited compared to the rest of the week, and they are closed on Sundays. During the week, they close at 4 PM, which makes sense given that the Fulton Fish Market operates in the early hours of the morning, so the owners need to rest. Lastly, my review focuses solely on the fish, as I’m not a fan of shellfish. However, if their shellfish is as good as their fish, you won’t be disappointed.
