Cliffside Bar & Grill - Gravenhurst

We arrived to be told that the kitchen was backed up so they could not take our orders yet..1st red flag.No problemo ..it was a nice night on their waterfront deck so we lounged the hour away.Our waitress was very apologetic for the delay & brought bread to appease the little one.When our food came 2 of the meals were poor. 1 ok & my steak although cooked properly was barely warm.The waitress asked about our food so I told her....then the manageress came over to explain that the kitchen was short staffed ( the chef?) so without question and to her credit the entire meal with drinks was ..No charge!I did tip the waitress.

This golf course clubhouse/ dining venue has a modern design with a large outdoor terrace. Indoor seating is also available.Seating and service is quick.Menu has lots of choices in various categories as well as beverages.The food was quite good at lunch.Certainly pricey, but quite enjoyable.Views over the golf course are grand.

Had a very relaxing dinner with friends on the patio. All of us enjoyed our meals and service was terrific! I think this is a place that has yet to really be discovered by non-golfers like us. Prices quite reasonable.

Stunning place, great grounds, really clean and a great retreat. Every year hubby and friends have a 4 day muskoka golf trip and last summer they stayed here for part of it. As avid golfers, they loved it ( although pricey) with great accommodations and greens so he took me there for lunch on the weekend. I must admit I was very disappointed with the meal. Tuna was so dry and unflavoured. Server aware, did offer to provide another tuna which I kindly declined. I barely touched it as it was poorly done. Hesitant to reorder I waited for hubby to finish. what was most disappointing was young server should of informed senior staff and it should of been removed from our bill. Or at the very least remove my appetizer charge. Given this is a high end place, I was very surprised. Yes, I should of commented to her but I felt I should not of had to say anything at this very nice place. Only for this reason I rate it average, and that is generous I just can't give it a poor rating as the place was stunning and the wine we picked was great.

My husband and I stumbled across this restaurant while out for a long morning walk. We stopped in to check the menu and decided to come back for dinner with our 2 teenage sons. Given that it was a golf clubhouse and there were not that many people, we expected either over-priced or under-whelming. It was neither! We tried the wonton chips, soup, wings, tuna tacos, burger, whiskey shrimp and tuna tabouleh salad. All were large and well executed. We thought the price for dinner was under many peer establishments in the area. We ate inside as it was raining but next time hope to be able to enjoy the incredible view as well. Don't take this place off of your list when in the Gravenhurst area.
