Food was superb perfectly cooked beef and salad. However on the next visit the restaurant was significantly busier. The lady that served us before was absent and the waiters and waitresses that day didn’t make a great effort to be anything special. To be fair it was busy, but they were obviously under pressures. The food took a long time to arrive and was mediocre. Our order for a second bottle of wine was forgotten or ignored so we went without and left fairly soon after eating. Not the usual relaxed dining of the area! I hope it was just an ‘off day’ as we always make a point of going to this restaurant when we are in Grasse and have not been disappointed before.
I took my teenage kids for a walk in Grasse and kid do get hungry all the time. So we picked a place and ordered. There is really nothing much to say, except of very nice lunch . Everything was good enough for steady 4. Portions were not to big and for sure not too small, tasted also quite alright we had to wait for the salad though- but further no complaints. Good place to crash for a lunch.
Extremely friendly and cozy. Better ask for recommended dish as not all of them can be cooked fast enough. Nice deserts and wonderful coffee. Just what you need before you go on the road
We sat outside for lunch, great location. The staff where very responsive, unfortunately I was served the worst pizza ever. The plat du jour where ok, I guess that's why the locals ordered those. The sparkling water at €6.50 was overpriced. According to the bill the place is called café Max, on the card ticket it was called Georgio's. My advise is stick to the plat du jour.
We stopped here for an early dinner while visiting Grasse. Nice wait staff tried to be as accommodating as possible. Food was unremarkable and uneven in quality and preparation. One person in our party got escargot and these were clearly extra large size that had been halved and stuffed into shells with the traditional French garlic butter taste was as expected without being overly appealing. A calamari appetizer ordered appeared as 3 large battered rings with some wilting lettuce somewhat off putting for its 14 euro tariff. Questioning the server on this portion brought us a second serving on the house. Odd but gracious on servers part. I'll chalk this encounter off as uneven at best 2 people in our party of 5 were satisfied with their pasta dishes which were prepared competently but without distinction. Would not recommend except for maybe a luncheon attempt. Final restaurant check was too high for food served.
