Tried this place for the first time after hearing many great reviews. We love seafood. The atmosphere was very pleasant. It 's much larger inside than it appears on the outside. Parking is difficult. There are a limited number of parking spaces and if there aren 't any spots left, there is really no where else to park except directly on route 6.We had an older gentlemen as our waiter. At first I was very pleased with him. We ordered cocktails to start. We then ordered appetizers. I chose to order one of the specials, grilled tuna. When I ordered it, the waiter said you want it rare, right? I told him that I didn 't want it too rare and that I would prefer closer to medium rare medium. He told me that it would be too tough if they cooked it more (I don 't agree with that). I still insisted that I wanted it less rare. The menu said that the tuna was served on a bed of salad. Shortly after taking the order the waiter returned and told me that the salad was a tiny bit spicy and if that was ok. I said that it was fine if it was only a tiny bit spicy like he said. Our entrees arrived. The tuna looked awesome; it was served on a bed of tomato cucumbers with some greens. Looked delicious. My first bite was the salad.....ugh...it was definitely more than a tiny bit spicy . It burned the back of my throat. I guess everyone 's palate is different and what is mildly spicy to one may be too much for another. I was disappointed but I could deal with it. I cut into the tuna and I could immediately see that it was rare.....very very rare. I tried to just go with it but the closer I got to the middle of the tuna I could see that it was not rare...it was raw. It was basically seared and plated. I got less than half way through and I couldn 't eat anymore...it was way too rare. The waiter did not follow through and check on us after our food was served. I 've been in the service industry for many many years. My first waitressing job was at 17.....I was always taught to wait a couple minutes after a table is served to let them take a couple bites and then go over and check to make sure everything is ok. We could not get this man 's attention at all. After a while it was apparent that we were done with our meal the waiter finally came over. He asked me if I wanted my tuna wrapped to go. I told him I did not. My husband (who is a chef) commented that my tuna was extremely rare. The waiter insisted that he ordered it medium and even went to get the ticket to show us that. I was a bit surprised by this. So basically he wanted us to know it wasn 't his fault. I didn 't care at that point. We told him we wanted a check. When he brought us the check he asked if he could bring it back to the kitchen cook it more.....but by that point, I was done. He did not offer to remove the $30 RAW tuna off the check. When he came back to pick up the credit card, my husband said something about it and then he did remove it, but it was only after my husband said something.I was the one who suggested we try this after hearing so much. I was quite disappointed and I can 't say for sure that we will return to give it another try.
I checked the menu out online so I was prepared for it to be expensive. The food was so good I didn't mind paying. The Specials Menu did not have prices on it, so being too embarrassed to ask, we stayed away from it. I had the Coral Platter, which was basically a sampler of various menu items. Everything on the plate was very tasty. My wife had the stuffed shrimp and my son the red snapper. You are allowed one side with your entrée. They both had mashed potatoes while I went with sautéed mushrooms. For an appetizer, we got two wedge salads and split them three ways, which was plenty and delicious. My son and I didn't drink, and my wife had one sangria. No dessert. We walked out of there happy, at about seventy dollars a person, with tip.
First time I went the stuffed shrimp were good. Next time ordered lobster tails which tasted like they came right out of the freezer. No other lobster choices on the menu and they call this a seafood
Ate at Coral seafood restaurant today for the first time and they did not disappoint. The food was delicious and great customer service. My daughter and I ordered the spinach artichoke dip, yummy and the seafood pasta. Very delicious. Loved my pineapple coconut mojito. I’m going back soon. Frgot to mention the naan with grilled green peppers and feta in olive oil. Yeah we’re going back for sure.
