I am a local Grand Valley resident and I am shocked and appalled at the behaviour of the owners husband. My mom basically had a plate thrown in her direction aggressively on the table in front of her because we asked for new eggs as the over easy eggs we ordered were burnt brown. When we asked for new eggs we were polite and reasonable. The waitress explained over easy eggs were not possible this late in the day (12pm) as the grill is too hot. So we said "ok - never heard of that but ok" The waitress said "I will see what I can do about your bill" - we did not ask her to adjust the bill - she suggested she would. We were then Shocked and appalled at the response we received from the owners husband. Near the end of our meal he came to our table and stood over my Mom confrontationally looked down on her and asked "was there a problem with your meal" he then took away her unfinished plate of pancakes - my Mom said "sorry I'm not done with that and yes my eggs were over cooked" - he said "you are done with this because it's free." I explained to him that the pancakes were a part of my meal and that I shared them with my Mom because she didn't get to eat her eggs. He then threw the plate of pancakes aggressively in my Moms direction on the table in front of her. So much so that syrup went flying everywhere and I was actually scared that he was going to get physical with my Mom. His demeanour was aggressive and mean. Yes this happened and is the truth. I confronted him and said my Mom came to enjoy breakfast not be treated this way - my Mom is a 67yr old nurse! He then said there's the door and kicked us all out! Sincerely Shocked. Appalled. NEVER going back. My parents have had dinner there regularly the last year when they come to visit us. They USED to like Marie's. VERY SAD as there is obviously a loose canon present! Don't complain or you'll be thrown out or worse maybe a plate thrown at you! I love local businesses and own my business and struggled whether or not to share this but since I am honestly so disturbed at the behaviour I decided to share our very disturbing and NEGATIVE experience! My Mom is the sweetest lady you could ever meet and it disgusts me that she was treated this way!

We stopped for dinner on our way home. It is a small fifty type diner. Tables and interior could do with some fresh up but the food is delicious all homemade. We had the pork schnitzel dinner for $10.99 It came with gravy and mushrooms on it, French fries and green and yellow beans. The schnitzel was very tasty, French fries delicious and the green and yellow beans cooked to perfection. There was enough dinner for my husband and I to split. We had the dutch apple pie for dessert which was to die for. The apples were real apples and the crumble top was very tasty. We would stop in here againif we were driving threw the town again.

Food is good. Atmosphere old and simple. Staff and customers very friendly and sociable. Just what you would expect from a small town. I like it!

The food was very tasty ,plenty of food , staff great . Very homey . Run very smoothly . Thanks and the sticky pudding is to die for YUMMY
