The mild is NOT mild and spending $3 to add meat to the fried rice got me maybe 8-10 small bite sized pieces of chicken. Flavor was good but the spice level was definitely higher than reasonable for mild and a ridiculously small portion of meat for the cost.
I can tell by the picture of the food doesn’t look that great, Cambodian food doesn’t look like that. I wonder who open this place in the first place. Look at the beef stick look dry just like the guy comment and he toss in the trash. I’m Cambodian and Thai I know how the real food are made. lol
I read a review somewhere online years ago that raved about the lort cha and had it on my list of places to try since then. But I 'm the only person in my group of lunch buddies that really likes Asian cuisine, so it usually got pushed down the list. However, yesterday my friend wanted to go to Hong Kong Market in Grand Prairie because they have a food court he wanted to check out. So, we were walking around there and lo and behold, I saw Aspara. I got the lort cha with shrimp and a couple of chicken egg rolls and he had the orange chicken, rice and a chicken egg roll. This is a food court so you order at their stall and then they give you a buzzer and you can wait at one of the tables in the food court. We had to wait a few minutes for our food but that is because it is prepared to order. They asked us both what spiciness level we wanted, 1 5. I chose a 2 because, while I like spicy, I wasn 't familiar with their interpretation of that scale and I 've been burned in the past. See what I did there? ; My friend doesn 't like his food very spicy, but he got a 3. Based on what we got, I could have gotten a 5 and he could have gotten a 4. I tasted no heat in my lort cha, and he said he could only taste the tiniest amount in his orange chicken. The lort cha was tasty. But a pet peeve of mine is when shrimp is served in a dish not meant to be eaten with hands and they leave the tails on. This applies to fettuccini alfredo, lort cha or whatever. If it 's in a dish with sauce, take the dang tails off when it 's cooked! Getting the tails off was a mess. And the food being served with only a cheap plastic fork didn 't help. I practically had to wash my hands after doing this before I could enjoy the food. The chicken egg rolls were substantial but were pretty much flavorless. And there were no condiments to use to give them any flavor. My friend liked his orange chicken. Both entrees were generous portions, and he took half of his home to have for dinner. I 'm glad I finally get to mark this off the list. And, while it was good, I don 't think it lived up to the level the review I read about all those years ago made it out to be. But there are several other stalls in the food court (Korean Hot Chicken, Ramen, Pho and Korean Corn Dogs to name a few so I think we 'll be back to try other places. And there is an arcade on the second floor of the mall for the kids.
Shawty asks me if I want chicken, shrimp, or combination with my pad tai. Thinking it comes with the meal I tell her combination. My meal then turns from $11 up to 17$ and I get scammed. Food comes out and it's pretty mid .
