I've been trying to limit how many photos I take of my meals and focus more on enjoying the flavors, so I only have one photo, which is of the bacon-wrapped Brussels sprouts. I snapped the picture because it was National Blueberry Day, and the sprouts were served on a blueberry horseradish sauce that had a delightful tartness. We particularly loved the fried asparagus, which was coated in panko breading. Normally, I find panko to be a bit heavy, but here it was just right, providing both structure and crunch to the asparagus. The sautéed sherry wild mushrooms were tasty, though I typically prefer dry-sautéed mushrooms due to their texture. The sherry added a hint of sweetness, but I tend to favor a slightly salty flavor in mushrooms. The saffron-steamed littleneck clams were fragrant and delicious; my daughter even sipped the sauce straight from the bowl after we ran out of bread. The smoked pork belly PBJ was a refreshing variation from the usual tender braise, presenting a firmer, perfectly smoked piece of barbecue. The only dish that didn’t impress me was the tequila-sautéed shrimp, which were served on a slice of sweet potato with a thin slice of soppressata and garlic slivers—the combination just didn’t appeal to me. However, the brisket and roasted root vegetables were quite good, and I think they would make a lovely breakfast. Lastly, the marinated lamb lollipops were excellent, though they came with only three per order. The lime and mint vinaigrette that accompanied them was delicious as well. My daughter claimed the third lollipop, leaving me a bit disappointed. I truly hope that Verdura thrives and expands its tapas offerings, as I am eager to try more!
Verdura has always been a fantastic spot, offering a wide range of satisfying options. However, I was disappointed by the current menu, which only features eight selections and lacks diversity. On the bright side, the drinks were excellent. If you're hoping to find the old favorites like corn fritters, tacos, and guacamole, you'll likely be let down.
What a fantastic spot for breakfast right in our own neighborhood! James is not just a restaurant owner; he's an incredible chef. The loaded potatoes offer a delightful burst of citrus that sets them apart, and no one can compare to his hollandaise sauce! It's easy to maintain social distancing while enjoying a wonderful breakfast here. Be sure to visit and support this local gem!
The food is excellent, and the atmosphere is inviting and enjoyable.
This is our favorite restaurant of all time! The food is fantastic! The staff is wonderful, friendly, and we feel like they've become part of our family.
