El Chacho - Gran Canaria

I spoke to the man in the front of house and he knew straight away what vegan was. He then said he could adapt a number of things on the menu for me. I was undecided so he recommended the burritos which were lovely. The cheese and sour cream were taken out to make it vegan

There needs to be better vegan options. The service was a bit rude at times.

Didn’t have any vegan dishes marked on the menu however I got the vegetable fajitas vegan (no cheese, no sour cream) and they were super yummy!! They had 4 tortillas, fajita vegetables, spicy chipotle salsa, pico de gallo, guacamole, corn cobb and lettuce. I believe other vegetarian dishes could be made vegan too Updated from previous review on 2022-10-31

I love Mexican food and after seeing them listed on HappyCow decided to give El Chacho a try. I was disappointed that there were no vegan dishes on the actual menu and after speaking with the Owner (who insisted on taking all orders instead of letting the staff do their job so super long wait) he said he could alter certain dishes to make them vegan. This however was limited so not a great choice and I was also concerned as when asked if they had a seperate area for preparing Vegan meals he avoided answering the question which makes me think that meat products are also prepped on the same table so possible cross contamination. Wouldn`t return, sorry, just too limited on menu options.
