Very well made food with a great taste that was not overwhelming for those that don't error Japanese very often. Friendly staff and a generally quiet restraint that is food for casual conversation.
Enjoyed the night out & watching our food being cooked with flames. Tried new flavours & appreciated drink selection. We did ask for chop sticks - we might be country types but love getting involved with our food. Fresh & tasty - a nice change!
While it's not necessarily 'authentic' style of Japanese, the friendly service and tasty food has always left me satisfied.
We were hoping for more from this casual tepanyaki restaurant. The service was certainly friendly and cheerful but the food had been too modified for the Oz country palate. We chose the $50 three choice menu for two. The meal arrived quickly and we watched with interest as it was freshly cooked on the grill by the chef. However, it lacked a little flavour. The "hot and spicy" pork belly was medium in spiciness and the prawns were a disappointment - lacking in flavour. It was our first taste of eel - so that was interesting. The highlight for me was the desert of chocolate soufflé cake. Wines were very reasonably priced. If you want a cheap eat with good service, this is the place. We would have appreciated more authenticity.
I went here for lunch during my work visit at Grafton. I came here with high expectations from the previos reviews and the food was over rated.I had a salmon bento box which is kindda salty. The salmon itself was dry. I think it'll be much better if the salmon wasn't fried 1st before it been grilled...if they just grilled my salmon with the teriyaki sauce I'll be much happier.Coming from Sydney where the food price is quite high, I must say for $20 bento it wasn't worthed.
