Second, when they cleaned the prep area and the coffee machine, they used the same cloth to wipe both the countertop and the steamer, then placed the cloth back on the counter. Lastly, the picnic-style table where we sat had food crumbs stuck in the crevices, and it's hard to say how long it had been there—definitely not a great impression.
I ordered the eggs Benedict, and it was quite delicious. The bread was perfectly toasted, the hollandaise sauce was tasty, the eggs were runny, and there was a generous portion of mushrooms. The coffee was a bit hot when it was served, but it had a lovely aroma with a hint of nutty caramel, if I'm not mistaken. The service was prompt, and my family really enjoyed the meal.
One of the well-known cafes in Christchurch Central City, this spot consistently delivers high-quality food that never disappoints. While the prices are on the higher side, I firmly believe that you get what you pay for. The portion sizes are generous and much larger compared to some other cafes in the area. I really enjoy the artwork displayed throughout the café—my favorite piece is the tram. What about you?
Nice cafe with good selection. Got the b+e bagel for $11, the bacon &cheese sconne for $5.50 and a small flat white for $5. All was really good, maybe coulda toasted the bagel for longer until it was crispy though.
Great spot to sit and soak up the morning sun for breakfast. Wasn't going to eat here, but glad I did the salmon benny was great and very generous with smoked salmon, eggs were perfectly cooked, well done. Service was spot on as was the coffee. I can see why it gets busy here. Good work people
