Karen's Plaice - Gosport

We used karen’s plaice during a September holiday where the weather was exceptionally warm. so the waiting queue on Monday was 20 minutes on a normal-fast Monday. However, it was worth waiting to enjoy their delicious fish and chips while watching the sun...over southampton water. a word to the wise, although at the time of our visit, this takeaway was still cash only' so no chance to contactless payments.

Will always use karens plaice when it is on solent at lee eat. best price-quality ratio, least greasiest battery, good quality sausage, fish chips and happy with the trips we pay. used them for years and can not see me change. Just make sure that they. their own ketchup, as do not want, pay chip store prices. would be practical if they were card, but not the end of the world

Such a shame and such wasted possibilities but they don't offer gluten free cooking. It wouldn't be difficult to offer, and would make them stand out against the rest.

This is our fourth time getting fish and chips from Karen's Plaice and each time the chips are beautifully cooked and the fish is perfect. The batter is lovely, thin and crisp, I can't fault it. We always get 2 medium fish, a large chips,...and some curry sauce, plenty for our family as they're not stingy with their portions either. Fish stays crispy as they box it seperate from the chips. With myself being from a northern seaside town, the only thing I wish they would do is that proper chippy gravy they do up there. Anyway, apart from that I'd go as far to say it's the best fish and chips I've ever had. EVER!
