Assaggio Ristorante - GOODWOOD

Assaggio Ristorante on King William Road, Hyde Park will be closing its doors soon and they are inviting everyone take the last opportunity to dine at this wonderful establishment. The email came as a surprise to me for it was bittersweet. While part of me is sad to see such an acclaimed restaurant with fantastic food go, it was also heart warming to hear the owners want to retire while the rest are looking forward to taking a break and spending more time with their families. Last week we visited Assaggio to sample their new menu and also to say goodbye. The restaurant is elegant as always and service was excellent with friendly staff. I was confident every dish would be good so I asked the waitress for recommendations and went with all of them.

Best meal ever! Took some family from OS there for dinner they were a bit dubious when I suggested Italian cuisine as they had tried some previously that hadn't met their expectations but you really can't fault the food and service at Assagio- everyone was delighted with their meals. The quality of the food is excellent and serves are generous...we had a selection of entrees which were soooo good and the mains were delicious. Most of us were too full for desserts but those who did indulge sang their praises. The other thing that made it such a great eating experience were the staff...our waiter was wonderful (as I am sure they all are he was attentive, knowledgeable about the menu and had a wonderful sense of humour...absolutely delightful! stars for him too!

Assaggio's is the special occasion restaurant of choice for my family, and for good reason. It's so easy to say good things.
