Bar des Maures - Gonfaron

It is now called "at the feet of the angels", the owners have changed, and we eat much better, it is now a restaurant worthy of this name.

The first point to make in this review is that Bar des Maures at 1 Place Gambetta is now the restaurant Aux Pieds des Anges and our review refers to the new restaurantWe were in Gonfaron to visit the Tortoise Village and to buy lots of Cotes de Provence wine at Les Vignerons de Gonfaron. Both of those missions were successful. When we set out from our base in Nice we first thought of bringing a picnic, and then we had second thoughts on reading Tripadvisor reports. Our choice for a simple lunch was superb.My wife had the plat du jour which was ample, local, freshly prepared, and she enjoyed everything. It was aioli, that is to say salt cod with many vegetables and a garlic sauce to dip. Very Provençal! I had a superb salad of local stuff with excellent ham and chevre chaude (warm goat cheese presented in a filo pasty parcel)The bar /restaurant has undergone a massive upgrade. The interior is spacious (admire the really old beams). Outdoors looked very good, but we visited when the the temperature was 33C, so stayed indoors with good a/c and quiet music. But know that this is a local bar restaurant for the locals: you will be made very welcome, Main courses are €10- €14 for truly authentic local cuisine. We hugely enjoyed a simple lunch in this wine village/town

Great place and friendly staff.You could easily while away hours just sat here drinking coffee and wine which we did every day. A superb place to go and drop in.

Don't forget it's a bar and not a restaurant. When you get that, it's all right. On Friday the cook makes us a very good ïoli. It's just a shame it's not real cod. The waitress is very nice. She's always there when you need it. small care with customers. weekends from time to time a small karaoke, but there, unique meal. by that I recommend

Improvised stage in this village that offers only very little restaurant. good, nothing exceptional in the plate, desserts are not houses, dishes are classics of road type or brewery .... but the service is simply perfect! for the establishment. the waitress was in the care of the family and a very kindness.
