Rockfire Grill - Goleta

Headed to the beach and needed a meal before we went. After looking at restaurants near us, we decided to give this place a try. They do have a small parking lot next to them for easy parking. Upon arriving, we were greeted by Raj. Super friendly and helpful. He explained that they are based on flatbreads. And that the buns for the burger are placed in the oven at the time of your order. It is a flatbread bun. Which is great because its not only fresh but it does stand up to their burgers. We ordered the Texas two step burger and the New Yorker pizza. The burger was juicy flavored just right with onion rings, bbq sauce, and bacon with cheesey goodness. It was a very good burger!! We made it a combo so it would include fries. They gave us 4 different sauces to try, their house sauce (leaned into a bbq flavor , garlic aioli (not very garlicky , ranch (needs a bit more ranch kick , and the good ole standard ketchup. Next up the pizza. The New Yorker is a meat lovers dream. With pepperoni, ham, and sausage. The crust is of course the flatbread. It was good but to be honest, I liked the burger better. I would definitely be back to try other options. (With the pandemic, they can't do salads until everything fully opens. It is a great place to eat. And the prices are fair. Its a must try if you haven't been here and a must go back if you have.

This is my second time here. Great place to get beer and a burger. They are doing indoor dining but the patio is a great place to eat because it is shaded.

Rockfire Grill is an excellent spot for burgers and pizza, located right in the heart of Isla Vista, adjacent to UC Santa Barbara. The ambiance features a cool island vibe, complete with Tiki lounge decor and reggae music playing in the background. Their lunch special, which includes the original flatbread burger (with two juicy patties), fries, and a drink, is not only the most delicious and flavorful burger you can find in Santa Barbara County but also very budget-friendly. The flatbread offers a unique alternative to traditional burger buns; it’s light and crispy, allowing the burger’s rich flavors to shine through while reducing the doughiness. It's baked fresh alongside your burgers for an extra touch of freshness! The house-made sauces are fantastic too—perfect for dipping fries, sandwiches, or pizza. The staff is friendly and attentive, adding to the overall enjoyable experience. There’s a pleasant outdoor seating area as well as ample indoor dining space. Plus, they even have a mini stage for fun karaoke nights! The parking lot is somewhat small, so street parking can be a challenge. Just be cautious of students zipping by on their bikes, rushing to class!

My boyfriend and I were passing through town while riding along the coast when we decided to stop here for lunch. The woman behind the counter was incredibly helpful and offered us some great recommendations. We each ordered our own burgers and shared an order of fries. The flatbread bun was AMAZING! It struck the perfect balance: not too dense, yet not too light. It held up well to the burger and all the toppings. The only downside was that they were a bit messy to eat, which is often the case with delicious food. If we’re in the area again, we will definitely stop by!

One of the great dining options in IV. The wings are decent, but the burger is fantastic. I particularly enjoy the La Jolla Burger; the avocado adds a delightful touch.
