This creates a bit of a wait but worth it in the end. The staff are friendly enough but are too busy to engage in general discussion. The meals come out rather quickly considering the restaurant was almost at full capacity and we were in the function room which is not normally used on some week nights. I ordered the Salt & Pepper Squid and it was a large serving and was very tender and I enjoyed every bit of it. My fellow club members had a variety of meals and I did not hear a bad remark from any of them. As far as costs are concerned I felt that the meals were very good and the price was edging up from when I last ate there. Overall a good experience with staff and food.
It may just be my taste, but I have had many better schnitzels elswehere. They cater well to families with a play area and it must be very popular as we were lucky to get a table on a Saturday lunch. Hubby said his steak was a little tough and overpriced. Will return and give the Village Tavern another try as we have sat outside in their large screen area before and had a 'counter' meal which was delicious.
We called in 2 nights ago for dinner, we hadn't booked and assumed we could get a table for 2. We were told the dining room was booked out, however we could order from either if the 2 other areas available. We sat in the sports bar. Meals came out reasonably fast and it was pretty good value, for a pub meal. The salad bar didn't have a great selection, but was still reasonable. My only real complaint was that we ordered oysters kilpatrick as an entree and our mains arrived probably 2-3 minutes after the entree, which meant by the time we finished our entree the mains were quite cool.the staff were very helpful, professional and friendly. I would definitely go back. As a pub meal, this place delivers
Buffet breakfast was excellent. Serve yourself. Bacon, sausage, scrambled egg, cereal, grilled tomato, hash brown, baked beans, fruit and coffee. A special for a limited time indicated on sign out front. 2 for 1.
Stopped in for lunch on a Monday, less than half the restaurant occupied. The meals took 40 minutes to arrive. The V Burger was huge and delicious, the salad/veg bar was average and my coke was flat. We had a birthday lunch booked for later int he week, that has now been cancelled , will not be rushing back.
