My wife really enjoyed her Nasi Goreng. My Red Beef Curry was ok but I wouldn't rave about it. I would probably give them another go. Next time I'll try something from the wok.
As a dine-in restaurant, Pattaya is pretty basic, but the staff were attentive, the red house-wine was more than reasonable and the food was excellent. My friends and I have eaten Chinese, Thai, Malaysian and other exotic foods all over the world, as well as in Adelaide. The food we had last Saturday night was equal to any we have ever had. The Spring Rolls we had for an entree were crispy/crunchy on the outside and the vegetarian filling was hot, ( temperature, not spicy). We had 3 different mains, with Special Fried Rice, ( mine without seafood ) and thoroughly enjoyed it all. Pattaya is a small suburban restaurant and "take-away" The food and drink prices are extremely reasonable, the seats are comfortable, and we found the food to be excellent. Our friends had been several times before and this was our first time. Our food and wine bill came to $ 65 per couple and we had not scrimped on anything. We will be back..
So tonight we got $50 takeaway from Pattaya Thai and Chinese. Once we got the food home it was difficult to draw resemblance to any of these dishes we had eaten before, there was very little meat in the crispy beef and the kway teow was soggy noodles. The meals were of such a poor standard we ended up having toasted sandwiches. Do yourself a favour and try somewhere else!
Me and my mum ordered seafood laksa soup and satay chicken tonight. I ordered on the phone and they could barley understand what I was trying to say, somehow "seafood laksa" was heard as "crispy beef". After a difficult phone call I went to pick up the food and had to wait an extra 20 minutes because the order was still wrong with barly an apology. To top it off the food was awful, the laksa tasted like uncooked 5 spice and curry powder in hot water, no trace of coconut milk as advertised and the small amount of seafood was tough. The satay chicken didnt look like any satay chicken we had ever seen before, both tried one bite and couldn't eat another, it was runny and didnt have the slightest peanut tatse. Very disappointed, never going back.
Food was nice we ordered the banquet the Mongolian beef was particularly nice. Staff were polite and attentive will go back!
