The Island Cafe - Gold Coast

We enjoyed a light lunch here and just coffee earlier in the week. I had an Acai bowl, no cardboard here, a huge wine goblet type bowl, looked and tasted great. Nice service.nice surroundings,quiet and civilised.

Great food. Very fresh ingredients and good choice. Have been here many times and the service is always good.

This café is part of a small boutique shopping complex . The atmosphere is relaxed as is the cafe's approach. The menu is mainly comprised of dishes that require no immediate cooking just assembly only so it is hard to comprehend why their timing is so slow. On observation the same person who operates as barista seems to also take orders which also slows thing down if you just want a coffee while shopping. The food when it arrives is enjoyable as is the coffee. This café will soon have a competitor in the complex and this will be the test.

I organised for my mother and I to have breakfast here today (Sunday and Mother's Day) and for that purpose it was greatCuteQuietNice surroundsQuality productThose are the positives - the negatives though would include Prices are heftyNeed to go to the counter to order which is a minor thing but slightly out of keeping with the image I think they are going forI would also note that the breakfast menu does not include the usual multiple egg options - this is not a criticism - just an observation that it is not your usual breakfast fare We both had the smashed avocado which was tasty but overpriced - drinks we very well presentedI'd bring Mum back again but not others

Lovely setting, indoor and outdoor. A little expensive but meet for coffee and chat and you are on a winner
