We had a wonderful experience. We came from Broadbeach to try it out. The waitress we had was awesome. We were provided a bowl of water for our dogs and the food came out relatively quick. I also thought that the bill at the end of our meal was reasonable. We will definitely return
If you believe all the hype and awards, this place should have been great. Instead, it was the worst breakfast experience I have had in 3 years on the coast. Visited on a fairly quiet day, with 2/3rds of the tables occupied, but most of the tables were eating. First was the bizarre situation with the covid check in. Militant to say the least. Ridiculous at best. Using same in and out door for arrival and departure (increasing personal contact! . A staff member pulling a plant stand over before you could enter, and then having to stand to complete the covid check in and show the details before being led to a table. Which hadn't been cleared. We waited 10 minutes to have our order taken poached eggs on toast and a toasted sandwich. And walked out 45 minutes later without being anywhere near receiving food on second enquiry (there were no updates was told it would be at least another 15 minutes. Food was overpriced but can make no comment about the quality as we didn't get to eat. The guy next to us got his food, sent it back and had it re made. Things weren't boding well. Would love to say the staff were friendly, but they weren't. Two young ladies who were completely harassed but no communication if there was a problem in the kitchen. We only saw two tables meals come out in 45 mins. We won't return.
Just across the road from our accommodation so went in for breakfast fast and was the best meal of the trip. Eggs Benny was just beast mode super light yet what the body needed for a big day ahead. Customer service was relaxed and polite, will return again.
Pick a number between 1 and 10 ... no, too high. We really wanted to enjoy our dining experience at Frigg ... it 's a local Cafe and meets most of the criteria we look for ... good parking, good amenities, close to home ... and we 've tried to like it multiple times... we do keep trying .. but it falls down on two important aspects ... service and to a lesser extent the food. It 's hard to know what does constitute good service these days ... until you find it. It 's easier to find not good service here. We 're talking things like not clearing the table when it 's full of dishes after the staff have already been to clear once but didn 't manage to take it all and then for some reason didn 't come back. I know wait staff get busy but in this instance I wonder if it is a lack of training: make sure you give the guests glasses when you bring the bottles of water; when they ask you something don 't say not now, I 'm really busy and then walk away at speed and don 't re-appear; remember to bring cutlery (and appropriate cutlery ... ahem, I need a spoon with the granola) and know that if there isn 't chocolate sprinkled on the top of a hot drink it probably isn 't a cappuccino! Don 't get me started on the food ... don 't get me wrong, it was fine but it had a chance to really shine and we wanted it to, we really did, but it didn 't. I 'm sorry but we won 't be going back ... a real shame because we want it to be a great cafe where we can take everyone to show it off ... this is what a local business can do ... but we won 't be able to until Frigg lift their game ... substantially. No rating ... but a fervent plea ... please train and supervise the wait staff!
