Unfortunately, in October I only have one table on my phone reservation request. Kiwikatze proposed Tokyo as an alternative. So we came to Tokyo at 18:30 and I entered the empty restaurant with the usual kiwicat... (I know 18:30 is too early for a dinner, but I didn't want to stay in Göttingen and had to return the last ICE to Hanover). There was a male service and a sushi boss. Communication with the male service is a bit difficult all night. But I could communicate that I had reserved. We have the most beautiful table in the window. The ambience in Tokyo is similar to the cozy sushi pubs, which can be found especially in the USA. Very nice and with a high feel-good factor – especially when almost all tables were occupied in the evening. Absolute highlight is the fully glazed staircase to the gallery. After looking into the menu it quickly became clear that the name “Tokyo” is somewhat misleading. Although there is a selection of Maki, Nigiri, Rolls, Temaki and even Sashimi, there are no other Japanese dishes – but some Korean: Kimchi and Bulgogis and typical “Chinese”, such as duck in peanut sauce. So I would call Tokyo a Panasian restaurant. Our order: for the lady a guava juice and for me a Kirin! Both came moderate, but with a certain waiting period. Unfortunately also a German beer on the map: Krombacher... L The dishes: Kiwikatze chose a Gyoza soup with vegetables and tofu in dough bag as an appetizer and beef with vegetables as main food. I ordered California Rolls with avocado and salmon and pork Bulgogi as main food – one of my favorite foods from the time I was still working for a large Korean group. Kiwikatze was happy about her soup. My roles came very traditional and somewhat too warm. It was good. Wasabi, ginger and radishes were minimally portioned, but high quality. After a longer waiting period, the main dishes. Beef with vegetables looked very good and tasted so. But my Bulgogi was disappointing. A small part of the pork was hidden under many onions and carrots. But with another Kirin, I also have to pay for 13.90... Shame give a price-performance draw. If I'm looking for the map again, Desserts asked for a certain waiting period the bill... We could settle this and instead get the cards back. The dessert selection was unfortunately weak, so we agreed on 2 glasses Riesling. They came well cooled. After 3.5 hours it was unfortunately also time to break up again. I asked about the bill and naturally wanted to pay with the card that “don’t go”. All in all, it was a beautiful evening that was mainly due to my beautiful companion – whether I would go back to Tokyo, I don't know.

The only sushi restaurant in Göttingen from a washed Japanese! For many years already established because the kitchen is simply brilliant. Always reliable, heavenly tasty and never miss anything. The dishes are so lovingly dressed, the service is very friendly and all special wishes are always fulfilled! Small tip: reservation, only on weekends!
The Japanese in Göttingen! Reliable good, always friendly and there are extravagant cooked plates every time! At Suhsi you should register beforehand, otherwise you usually have to wait quite long (up to an hour). It's worth it! Prices are a Japanese expression of sensual taste and quality. This is far from cheap sushi and conveyor belt production! You'll repeat here. It is a pity that the seats in the upper area will never be released because it often lacks capacity, especially on weekends!
With pleasure for good sushi you don't have to think long in Göttingen. The city only has a real Japanese here. But centrally and truly magically good! The food must be served up to an hour and more, you should always plan enough time or order before. For me it is always the greatest pleasure to eat here!
