Nicki's Taverna - Gloucester

My wife, two friends, and I came to this restaurant on a Friday night around 8pm and were surprised to find it completely empty. The owner was friendly, but I found it strange when I asked about the soup of the day and he asked me what I would like it to be. I requested tomato soup, which was tasty, but I couldn't help but wonder if it came from a tin due to how quickly it was served. The soup was accompanied by plain white bread, which was a bit unexpected for a restaurant. However, the main courses were excellent, particularly my kleftico which was tender and delicious, although I didn't care for the rice that came with it. The wine was reasonably priced and we were only charged for two glasses, which was a pleasant surprise. Overall, my wife and friends enjoyed their meals more than I did. The restaurant closed shortly after we left, which added to the odd atmosphere. Personally, I wouldn't choose to return.

Very pleased with the service and food. We had lunch there at 3pm when other places stopped serving hot food . Authentic Greek food, fresh and tasty tomatoes in Greek salad (very generous portion , delicious musaka and a Greek coffee. Very good value for money and most importantly warm and welcoming atmosphere. Will come back another time:

I have been to all the Greeks in Gloucester, but think that this restaurant does the best kleftico and keftedes, I haven't been hre in a while but going to try again due to the size portions and the friendly staff!

Served by Stavros and his counter part. Brilliant If you want a real authentic Greek Restaurant this is the place for you! The Greeks are Greek and the food is home cooked, me and my friends from out of town had an amazing time. We may of been the only ones in there, but what a night we had, what a laugh and the portions sizes where massive... We say definitely not to be missed.
