Causeway - Gloucester

Wonderful, fresh fried clam strips generously portioned. Excellent service. Definitely feels like a place locals eat. Will definitely go back.

My husband and I came down from New Hampshire to go to our grandsons baseball game. We ordered seafood from The Causeway. A lobster roll and a scallop appetizer. It was $70, and was the worst seafood that we ever ate. The lobster roll was filled with lettuce, mayo and the rubbery part of the lobster. They have gone down hill. A disgrace of a restaurant. Horrible, horrible, horrible

For a kitchen that seems to be no bigger than the size of my college dorm room, the food is plentiful--actually huge, fresh, and delicious portions--and seems everflowing to a crowd that is continuously clamoring for more. The restaurant has unquestionably the best fish chowder ever! BYOB!!

Probably the best fish chowder in New England. Diner type setting, nothing fancy for decor but the food will blow you away. We drive 75 miles to have lunch. The bowl of fish chowder is dinner sized so be careful how much food you order. Servings are XL.

Food and service are awesome.My daughter and I shared Petes Seafood platter.Cooked perfectly.Batter awesome,not over seasoned.You can actually taste the seafood.Shared meal still with left overs.Awesome job chef.We also had a cup of Fish Chowder which is a meal in itself. I eat their about 6 times a year (I'm from Western Mass) Every time I swear Im just gunna order Chowder,side salad and bread but everything always look good.Best Chicken Parm ,Best Sirloin Tips ever.You have not had a Stuffed Lobster if you have not had one here.Always leftovers.I never tried the Grilled Octopus .I didnt want to try a entire meal so asked the waitress if she could make me a little appetizer of grilled octopus and i would gladly pay for it.She brought me a generous portion and I wasnt even charged.I would of gladly paid for it.Maybe that could be an appetizer.You dont get that kind of service in most places.Always worth the wait or take out and find a place with a view to eat.Then went to Halibut Point State Park to walk it off. beautiful must see scenic park with spectacular views of the ocean.Great Restaurant.
