VPs Cafe - Glenside

I last reviewed this cafe in November 2019, but I'm sure I have reviewed it since then. Today, we went to Hazelwood Park for lunch. There is cellar parking available for the complex, with steps or an elevator leading to the Café. Upon our arrival, there were some other diners present, but it was not as busy as the old Burnside Village Café. This may not be great for business, but it was nice for those seeking a quiet lunch spot. Mary greeted us warmly and took our orders. I was pleased to be able to choose my own salad, as I prefer traditional options over modern choices like rocket and "weed." Our meal was served with water, and we thoroughly enjoyed it. We ended our meal with cappuccinos and cake, and the homemade carrot cake was particularly delicious. We are now happy to add this cafe to our list of reliable lunch spots.

This cozy little restaurant is a gem. The staff is incredibly friendly and welcoming, always with a smile. The food was delicious and the service was excellent.

I met up with a friend and wanted to support a local business, so we decided to try out VPs for the first time. The brunch menu was extensive and offered a lot of delicious options. I opted for the Wild Rice Bowl, which was vegan, gluten-free, and absolutely amazing! I would definitely return to this restaurant.

My wife and I have been visiting VPs weekly for lunch for many years. We know the employees with names and have a prepared order for our meal! Parking is easy, there is rarely a problem to find a table, the staff are friendly and go... the extra mile. We like to eat here. But this week we learn that VPs close its doors! Shock! Horror! The end of life as we know! The good news is that they will be reopened in a new larger and unclosed place close by... We'll be eager for news.

Located in the busy Burnside Village Shopping complex at Glenside. Although the cafe looks a bit tired, the coffee is reliably good and the staff friendly and efficient. A Loyalty Card system is in place to encourage regulars. Prices are reasonable, plenty of on-site parking.
