Brisket was perfectly cooked with just the right amount of fat. Tender and moist. The sweet potato fries were lattice cut and tasty.I recommend this place.

Had chopped Brisket with Mac n Cheese and Sweet Potatoe Fries. Really good meal for a good price. Sweet Tea was perfect too.

Found this place when traveling. Stopped by on the way there and back. Good food and good people!

Well just decided to give Hammonds another shot with the new owners and obviously doesn't seem like they are any better than the other owners, asked about getting our order done to sit outside and it seemed to be to much trouble for them. That's the 4th bad experience we have had in the entire time we have lived here in 6 years now, if you're not willing to wait on customers outside maybe you should get rid of your tables outside or if it's just your waitresses that don't want to wait on customers outside maybe hire ones that will, massys just got my business today that Hammonds lost again. Last time I had issues with this place I drove 70 miles away away from home that day after for BBQ. So price and distance was no issues for us but service is. And when you can't get help at the counter doesn't help.Once upon a time Hammonds actually was good and had pride in their place, guess not anymore. I grew up off and on here in this area as a kid because we had land in several places that we had cattle on and hunted on. Sadly most of the old places are gone or new owners have taken over and the business just aren't the same respect as the original owners had towards their customers. Sadly today just pretty much showed my wife and I that this place is still the same and better service just down the street is a much better option than to continue to keep giving a place a chance to make up for the continued mistakes on their part. If a business can't make things right for the people of their town something is wrong there. To the owner, the day we came up there we had no one who bothered to even take our order even at the front counter. We never got help is why we ended up leaving and going down the road to Massey BBQ. You misunderstood about us getting service at your establishment. It's because we didn't get our order taken is why we left, we honestly did want to give your place a try again but we have had multiple times in the past few visits with the old owners where service was bad and couldn't get orders taken even inside, we stood inside for 15 minutes that day before I had to walk to the back to even ask about help. And pretty much got blown off about it just like with the old owners would let the staff do. I don't like giving a bad review to any restaurants in the town I live in but if the service isn't up to a good standard for the people who live here it surely isn't gonna bring people who don't live here back again. I honestly liked the food at Hammond's till the past couple years when the service changed and it got like no one really cared, I kinda hoped that had changed when I'd heard it had been bought and had new owners. I understand what you mean about the outside orders but the problem was no one would take our order that day, we tried, so we left and went to another place.I'm sorry to say we did go to your competition down the road.
