The service on both occasions was slow and not very good. It wasn't busy during my visits at dinner time. The prices are high considering the inconsistent quality. It's difficult to find a good sushi place in this area, so you might be better off going to Arlington Heights. I would rate the Miso soup 3.5/5, Caterpillar roll 3/5, Garlic salmon 5/5, Black monster 4/5, Exotic bomba 5/5, Nigiri 4/5, Ocean vinaigrette 3/5, River beast 3/5, and Dragon roll 3/5.
This restaurant used to be my absolute favorite dining spot in the Chicagoland area. However, they have made a lot of changes in the past year, some good and some not so good. The new decor is nice and there are some cute photo opportunities, but it's not necessarily better or worse than before. The biggest and worst change has been the staff. The previous servers were incredibly attentive, knowledgeable, and some of the friendliest people I have ever met. The new staff is clueless and lackadaisical. During my recent visit to place a to-go order, I had to repeat my order multiple times because the server did not know how to use the computer. They kept asking me if I wanted rice with each item, even though rice should have been included. Despite saying yes, I did not receive any rice. This has unfortunately become the new norm at the restaurant. The quality and taste of the food, while still good, have also fluctuated in recent times. I miss the old Kizuna.
The BEST sushi we have found close to us! Staff is wonderful too! After they remodeled it is more roomier, we love the Tequila, Medusa, Picasso, black monster and pretty much everything we have tried.
My husband and I recently returned from a month of international travel and were craving sushi. Eager to try somewhere new, we stumbled upon Kizuna. We ordered four rolls including the dragon roll, mafia roll, and spicy tuna and salmon rolls. My favorite was the mafia roll, made with black rice which is a rare find at sushi restaurants. The restaurant is adorable and inviting, the staff is welcoming, and we were seated promptly even during off-peak hours. I highly recommend trying the mafia roll if you haven't already!
The popcorn shrimp at this restaurant is delicious! I hope it never gets removed from the menu, otherwise I might cry. This place is great! The sushi is incredibly fresh and there are plenty of options available with minimal or no raw fish, which is a nice bonus. The presentation of the food is excellent. I have visited this restaurant multiple times and have always enjoyed the consistent quality of the food and service. However, during my last visit, I noticed that the portions seemed smaller and my sushi fell apart a bit, which may have been due to the chef working on Wednesdays. Overall, I love this restaurant and find it to be a cozy place to unwind and relax.
