Will probably not return again. Regulars at Ripples but not with new people. So many tables left. We waited 1.5 hours for 2 entrees. Staff trying their best but major delays. Would not recommend unless things change. Soy chook very dry not like usual. Very disappointing.
We had Yum Cha at Malvern's Harmony Restaurant, which used to be called "Ripples," on Saturday and were pleasantly surprised at the consistently high quality of the food and the attentive and friendly service. Every dish came out fresh and hot. When we chose a serve of egg tarts from the trolley, the waitress suggested she could bring some out at the end of the meal so we could be sure they were hot, a gesture that was much appreciated. Tea was included in the cost, unlike certain places that charge up to $8 per head for it. We have had Yum Cha at many restaurants in Melbourne and suburbs, but this one is right up the top for us. A memorable experience.
Never let down by consistent Chinese yumcha. Service efficient and price reasonable. Free tea and endless food. Good for groups and takeaway is good. Busy strip and has been there 15 + years.
The dining area looks tired and messy. Presentation is everything before the food arrives. The food is average.
