It was overall good. I made a reservation and they sat us right in the front. Not the most comfortable set up. I had the salmon. It was definitely overcooked. The other dishes ordered at the table looked good. The waiter Mel was amazing. I would like to go back at some point. I would try something else
My wife and I had a wonderful dinner, the service was great, the ambiance in the wine room was top notch and the price was well worth it.
We had a business dinner with 4 people. Waiter was very good, courteous, and friendly. We had 2 NY Strip and 2 Ribeyes, all very tasty and a nice presentation on the serving of the ribeyes. Maybe one of the best ribeyes I have ever had. One of us ordered a side of asparagus that never came, and a side of mac n cheese came out cold and bit after all the others. The restaurant itself is very nice but we had a 5:30 reservation, left the bar to sit around 6:00, found it very odd that there was absolutely no one else in any of the dining areas. Not something you would expect at a prime steakhouse even on a Wednesday. Also odd was that the only entry into the restaurant was through a common entrance for other businesses and the rest rooms were not in the restaurant and on another floor. Overall, very good, just not as expected.
This was our second visit to Red Fox in Glastonbury. We wanted to give it a second chance. I ordered a beef tips special and my husband had a lobster ravioli special. Both were priced at $40 which was not disclosed to us either in print or by our server. My meal was over salted and the meat was overcooked. It was basically mashed potatoes, mushroom gravy and the beef. My husbands meal was also over salted but tasty. Both portions were generous. We ordered a side ofn asparagus which was very good as was the zucchini rollatini appetizer. The interior of this restaurant is dark and a bit dreary. The wine room in the back is a bit more pleasant. The front and mid dining areas are crowded, warm and dark. There regular menu is laminated which to me means it doesn't change much or take advance of what his in season. Bottomline: Nothing special here. Specials are overpriced. Regular menu is pretty ordinary. Interior decor is tired. Lunch menu looks good. They also serve brunch.
