Nice and cozy but eating is bad and one of the young waiters has a job problem.
There is a formal restaurant in the upper floor, but we decided to go this time for a more relaxed gastroub experience in the bar. the bar area is located in the cellar of a traditional glassgower mule house and the interior is a classic striped stone and dark wood look that gives it a really cozy Scottish feeling.
As laughing I decided to go for the Risotto balls, or as I know them, arancini. They were consumed with devastated spinat in hot petersilienbutter. I really enjoyed them! some might complain about the amount of butter, as the risotto was tasty and there was butter on the serving, but I really enjoyed it. without sauce or dip arancini can be a bit dry, but these were nice and damp and had a lot of smoked salmon in them for taste!
Menu. Atmosphere. Service. Price. Food. I thought I had booked the fancier upstairs dining room for Saturday lunch but when we got there, there was no one to be found. Staff or customers! Which allowed us to stroll around the upstairs unhindered. Parts seem a bit in need of tlc others look excellent We eventually found our way downstairs to the bar/restaurant. Friendly and informal staff. We opted to do without starters and have main and dessert With the main course, it was simple, good quality, well cooked, pub grub.
