Gourmet Burger Kitchen - Glasgow City

We stumbled upon Absurd without knowing about it beforehand. The food was fantastic, the staff were friendly and not pushy, and the cocktails were delicious. I highly recommend this place, but it was quite busy so I would recommend making a reservation.

We were greeted by a very friendly girl who showed us to our table and explained how the menu worked to us. The food itself tasted fresh, well seasoned and the presentation of the dish was also on point. The offer of free refills was also a nice touch. The restaurant was very well lit and also very clean, it had real feel of an American diner. I would for sure visit again.

Visited here last night. A extremely busy Saturday tea time. Must say staff were absolutely helpful and pleasant, even though customers were queuing out door. Well organised .Burgers great, skinny fries amazing. Would definitely return.

The tastiest burger I have ever had. Never been to gourmet burger before as I always thought it would be expensive and huge burgers. 2 burgers 3 sides for £25. Bargain. The whole meal was lovely. Personally I would go for sweet potato fries they were delicious, skinny fries were ok and coleslaw was lovely too. Cocktails for under £6, the strawberry gin and elderflower was lovely Staff were very friendly and helpful. Oh and toilets were spotlesly clean Will definitely return.

The way that this restaurant works is a bit unusual and takes some getting used to if you haven't been before. You are seated at your table as you would be in any normal restaurant but then when you are ready to order you take your menu with you up to a counter, place your order there, then go and sit back down again to wait for the food to be brought to you. The whole system is kind of odd but it does make the experience more memorable I guess. Worryingly I can't really remember that much about the burger that I had which suggests that it wasn't that impressive. I ate all of it but I think it was average at best and the taste of it would not make me rush back for another visit. I want to write something about the service here but as this place operates more like a fast food restaurant than a proper restaurant, the actual service is minimal, you don't build up that rapport like you do in other places and the emphasis does seem to be on just getting you the food and getting you in and out sadly. However, I have to say the prices are reasonable and while the restaurant is not special, it's a decent place to go if you feel like a reasonably good burger and would rather not go to one of the actual fast food places.
