El Gusto - Glasgow City

Great food, authentic Spanish. Lots of it too so you don't feel short changed as you might in some tapas joints. Very friendly personable service from the owner too. You can buy wine there or bring your own bottle for a very reasonable 7 quid corkage. Was there with a fiend and we both thought it outstanding. It is everything that chain restaurants should be but are not. I really felt like i was in a little tapas place in Spain. Go, this guy deserves our support. People giving one star reviews clearly have no clue about authentic tapas.

We fancied something different and discovered El Gusto. It was excellent, all the dishes were great and the gambas al pil pil were exceptional! Would highly recommend and can’t wait to visit the restaurant once everything is back up and running.

Lovely authentic Spanish cooking, we enjoyed charcuterie and cheese starters,?especially cured manchego in olive oil and beautiful rabbit paella, friendly service and great atmosphere!

The main selling point for this I must add is the BYOB... However, the restaurants food was incredible. Half the price and double the standard of the larger chains. A real gem, and if I'm ever back in Glasgow I will return.

We visited on a whim and were delighted by the unpretentious atmosphere, friendly service and authentic dishes: anchovy hors d'oeuvres, a great slaction of meat, fish and vegetarian tapas, the paella with chicken and chorizo was an excellent centrepiece, followed by lovely ice cream. Wiith service, drinks and corkage the cost was just shy of £25 per head.
