Bar Restaurant Kerculla - Gjirokaster

The place is nice, view is beautiful. However, the service is bad. They have a restaurant with only one waiter trying to serve all of the guests. Needless to say, it was a disaster. Took us 15 minutes to get seated even though we had a reservation because no one assisted us to our table. Took us another 15 minutes waiting for the menu so we can start ordering because the waiter was serving other customers. We informed them of our issue and one girl we believe is from the reception approached to ask us what was wrong. She was not nice, gave us an attitude and a bad vibe.

Very nice and tasty dishes. Be careful with options that are not in the menu and are proposed by waiters. We had a recommendation as alternative to an option that was in the menu, and resulted 3x more expensive from one that we had selected.

We were staying at Kerculla Resort for 2 nights and had lunch twice in the restaurant. The food was good (soup and salads both days). Prices were higher that local restaurants in the old town, but that's to be expected in a resort hotel. The Kerculla restaurant upstairs was beautifully decorated and had amazing views. Beers and wines were well priced.Service was pretty slow, as it was everywhere else in the hotel. They seem very short staffed which impacted upon service hugely. Bottled water was served to us and charged for without any consultation which I found a bit needless. On our second visit, we charged our meal to our room at the request of the waiter serving us. When we settled the bill at the end of out stay, I noticed the waiter had added a tip without our consent. The money itself wasn't an issue, but it was the principle

Bad service with pricing. I ended up paying double the bill. I was charged 30% instead of 3% extra for using my credit card. They explained later that there is 3% charge for using the card. The price of the dish was 40% higher on the bill compared with the menu. So I left without further discussion since I did not feel comfortable with the way they were processing payment. Good food and spectacular views though.
