Seagulls Lounge - Gimli

We went there on the weekend. I've heard a lot about this place, and it was a fair experience. They have great pickerel. We tried fish and chips and their Lake Winnipeg Pan Seared Pickerel and Marble Rye Rueben. All of them were excellent and acceptable dishes. But the best choice for me was the Lake Winnipeg Pan. Parking: Parking lots are available but withit 6 minute's walk.

The food was a mixed bag. My husband enjoyed his beer-battered fish and chips, although it didn't wow him. Our kids liked their chicken fingers and Mac and cheese. The standout dish for me was the Baked Mac n' Cheese with three cheeses and chorizo. However, my chicken fettucine was a disappointment as the chicken seemed pre-cooked and microwaved. The decor felt dated and resembled a cafeteria, lacking any modern updates. Our waitress was friendly and attentive, keeping our drinks filled. If we were to return, it would only be for a seat on the patio and possibly a drink. The restaurant seemed busy due to its location. The kids menu was integrated into the adult menu, but it lacked extras such as coloring sheets and crayons. Parking was not an issue, with ample free street parking nearby and a marina lot across the street. Handicap parking may be harder to find during peak tourist season.

I highly recommend this restaurant. You can choose to sit indoors or on the patio by the water. They offer a fantastic selection of gluten-free options on their menu, including gluten-free bread and buns. However, please note that they do not have a separate fryer for gluten-free items. The staff is extremely friendly and accommodating, and the kitchen takes extra care with gluten-free orders. The food is delicious, and I especially loved the Pickerel Cheek appetizer. I suggest making a reservation if you plan on visiting during peak hours. This restaurant is Celiac-friendly with plenty of gluten-free choices.
