Culichi's Urban Kitchen - Gilroy

Today we celebrated the birthday of a dear friend, Amos, and Culichis Urban Kitchen made the day truly memorable and special. A big thank you to Gaby for the exceptional service. I give five stars to Culichis Urban Kitchen, especially to Gaby for her attentive care.

Gabi was wonderful—very attentive, provided impeccable service, and had a friendly demeanor.

The waitress was excellent right from the start. Unfortunately, the food didn’t measure up. I have a fish allergy, but not a shellfish allergy. My spouse inquired about the California roll containing crab, asking whether it was real or imitation. The waitress did a great job and checked on this for us. The kitchen confirmed it was real, so I took a few bites before my body realized it was imitation. The waitress spoke with the manager, who confirmed that it was indeed imitation crab. The manager took her time to come and address the situation, but once she arrived, she seemed genuinely concerned. She explained that there had been a miscommunication and assured us the chefs know they should only be handling imitation crab. They graciously offered our meal for free. I had to use my emergency inhaler to help with my breathing, and overall, I was quite upset. The steak I ordered was tough and lacked flavor. My 4-year-old enjoyed the salmon, while my 15-year-old, who loves sushi, rated it a 6 out of 10. My spouse found his meal acceptable. Unfortunately, we will never return to this place again.

We stopped here while outlet shopping. Service was very friendly and fast despite how busy it was. The atmosphere is lively and loud with a sports bar vibe and Mexican music. The menu was Mexican/Asian fusion. Chips and salsa were great spicy! We ordered asada fries with guacamole, fried calamari with fried jalapeños, and a Gilroy roll all delicious. It was way more than the two of us could eat! We also had a tamarind wine margarita, which was tasty and served with an orchid flower... festive! I'd go back if I were in the area.

The atmosphere is amazing, love the music and the whole vibe. The sevice was great and we got our food fairly quick. The food was ok, i had high expectations i guess.
