We started with the fried zucchini, which was crispy and not greasy, accompanied by a delicious marinara sauce. I enjoyed the black fish tacos, which were incredibly fresh and flavorful. The sweet potato fries were the perfect side dish. Other dishes at the table included a tasty salad and chicken pancakes filled with plenty of breast meat. For dessert, we shared pies and billionaire bars. The service was top-notch, attentive but not overbearing. Can't wait to come back soon!
This restaurant is a stylish restaurant with good menus. I like you can dress up and sit in the dining room, or go a bit more casual and sit on the terrace or bar area. I think the food is a good quality, but maybe a tough price for some options. I liked the dinner and drinks menu, the atmosphere and the history of the restaurant cards they have on the table. I'll go back and hope to enjoy the terrace, lights and music next time!
Absolutely exquisite food. The staff is polite and professional. They rebuilt something into their dining room. One side looks casual while the other side is more formal. It used to be only on the formal side, bedding napkins tablecloths Etc. The non-formal side has bearish pull chairs not as good as before. We sat on the terrace. Absolutely beautiful. The food makes everything else pale compared. A must
I never thought I'd write less than a 5-star score for the Pines. They were always above average in all those years I enjoyed there. But this last visit can only be described as disappointing. The coating on the fish was soggy (fish on a plate) and the frits limp. I don't know why they've changed their revolving basket to some sort of Bland bread, but I hope they change it again (my sister said it tastes like the common bread from the church of our grandfather). My mother's berry cake was cold (not room temperature, but actually cold refrigerator). The Hummingbird Cake (one of my favorite moist cakes) was very dry and tasteless. I went with four stars because the other diners in my party were mostly satisfied with their meals, but overall it was not a good experience.
What a surprise! A really good lunch in Gibsonia PA! Despite the tavern designation, this is a white tablecloth restaurant with prices to match, though it does have a small pub room that is more casual. It is not fast casual. Service was leisurely on a Wednesday between Christmas and New Years, but food was excellent. We may have been the only patrons under 70. It pulls in the (elderly) ladies who lunch. Good place for a business lunch I would say. Not a great place for little kids. Service too slow, and refined atmosphere requires reliably good manners. Reservations recommended. It is a famous and popular spot.
