(Yes I’ve seen pictures from their own employees) Which they only clean when the health department comes by for an inspection once or twice a year. They never clean their bathrooms but maybe once a month, still have the same dirt clumps on the floor from a month ago. They just recently hired a new bartender that ignores his customers to chat with his friends the whole time. He had six out of seven customers at his bar with empty glasses who didn’t get service for 30 full minutes because Hunter was too busy talking to his one friend (the only person at the bar with a full glass). The managers don’t even care when a paying customer has an issue with their service or the cleanliness of their restaurant. If you say anything is below standard, they just kick you out for (and I quote) “overstepping” instead of addressing the concern in a professional manner or offering to fix the problem. The only good hard workers that make your experience decent are Tom, Brandon, Mallorie, and Jason. Everyone else isn’t even worth a visit. Patrice and Renee (the new managers) and Hunter (the new bartender) are the worst things to happen to this restaurant since they opened! Don’t even know how they got jobs here with their terrible attitudes. They’re lazy, overly self righteous, and rude to repeat customers. Obviously never heard of customer loyalty before. Since they’ve been hired every single regular customer they’ve had has boycotted this place! And you should too! They’ve also reduced the quality of food here drastically in the past couple months. Even their lean brisket is greasy and absolutely disgusting. (None of their regulars even bother to order their food since they changed their recipes) It went from tasting like heaven a few months ago to making most of their customers have food poisoning. So please beware of their food! It is not edible anymore. Either overcooked or undercooked. Never hitting the mark. More plates get sent back than get eaten now. Not only are the managers (Patrice and Renee) unprofessional, but if you’re hearing-impaired and ask them to repeat themselves because you didn’t hear it the first time, they get an attitude with you. Unless you’re buying local draft beers from the only four decent employees here I mentioned above, don’t waste your money or your time. You will regret it. I know my family and I definitely did! TLDR: terrible food, slow and unprofessional service, and dirty beyond belief.
Outstanding service to complement the delicious food! My wife and I stopped in for our first time and ordered the sampler platter. Everything tasted fantastic, but we prefer our food a tad warmer. Our server (MK) was delightful and efficient, and in no time we had a perfectly hot platter. The general manager, Todd, went beyond and gave us extra consideration (even though they didn 't do anything wrong per se). Couldn 't be happier, and will be back with friends.
I’ve had a lot (make that a whole lot) of brisket in my days. More than I care to admit. And there’s no way that was fatty brisket. There was not a lick of fat on there and it was actually very tough and dry. Like what I would imagine the sole of my shoe taste like. This is the second brisket I’ve tried in Memphis (the other being Corky’s) and I’ve not been impressed at all with either place. There were 12 of us this time, and not a one liked it. We actually had two different groups place two separate orders at different pickup times, and we both got the same quality brisket. I think what may have happened was they ran out of fatty brisket so they just replaced it with lean brisket without telling us. Idk. But even if that’s what happened, in my opinion it was just too dry and tough for even lean brisket. I’ve never seen brisket go to waste, until that meal. Oh wait, actually the dog ate the leftover brisket. And I think he liked it. Hey, is that why it’s called “wolf” brisket? Haha. Jk. Well, it’s kinda funny but not, cuz we dropped a lot of money just for a joke. We were disappointed given all the great reviews which is why we chose the place for our out of town visitors. As for the rest of the food, the Mac and cheese was good. Chips were good too. I liked their take on coleslaw. Succotash was not bad first time I’ve had it. Looked like beans mixed with corn. Waffle corn bread tasted like … corn bread in the shape of a waffle. Nice take. Oh and the burnt ends were pretty good. Smaller portion though, but good. FYI the sauce on the burnt ends is kinda sweet, if you don’t like sweet. We were really impressed by the photos of the giant pretzels online. But our pretzels all came broken up in pieces to fit into their to go box I guess. Not impressed with that design/concept. Would’ve been great if they could’ve put it in a grocery bag or something to maintain it’s impressive shape. Or at least given us the option to keep the original shape in tact. Just a thought. I mean, that’s why you get it right? So much for the photo ops. Otherwise it’s really just like pretzel bits, which we could’ve ordered anywhere. Was not impressed with the accompanying beer cheese either. Was hoping for something interesting, but it lacked flavor and I did not care for the somewhat gritty texture of it either. Stuck with the mustard instead. Looked like nice ambiance inside the restaurant. Lots of customers too. So I’m probably in the minority or else our group got a couple of bad orders. Well, that’s my honest review of this place based on our experience. Hope it is helps y’all have a better experience than ours or else make an informed decision on what to order there, or where to eat.
I 've tried, but continue to be disappointed. I may be a bbq snob but cook much better brisket at home. Had lunch one afternoon and ordered chicken and brisket sliders. Both were very dry and lacked any real taste. They were so bad I assumed they were left over from the night before, although they claim on their menu that they only serve fresh. I tried again on a few weeks ago on a Friday night with friends and could not have been more disappointed. I ordered the burnt ends and they were not very good. Dry, overcooked, lacked flavor. My wife ordered the brisket and it was terrible..not a good thing for a restaurant that has brisket in its name. The meat was very dry and almost hard to eat. Maybe this had been sitting under a heat lamp all day, or maybe the server left the order up too long in the window, but you would think that this would be much better given it is their feature item. Just looking at the brisket when it was served you could see it was going to be dry and so I was surprised they even served it. This was one of the worst briskets I have had in a restaurant. Only other note is that the service seems very poor. This may be result of the labor market, but the waiters I have had are young kids that don 't really seem to care about the service. They forgot items, would disappear for periods, forgot items we ordered and don 't seem very knowledgeable about the menu. My comment above about serving dry brisket is a good example...they just serve what they pick up at the window and don 't really care. Good news is that you can get a table on Friday nights pretty easily, but should have known there was a reason for this...Would not recommend.
Again, really wanting to love this place but still just not sold on the food. Service was excellent and the vibe was also friendly with a neighborhood type feel.
