We just beat the Sunday brunch rush, and after tasting the food we realized why this place was so crowded. Buttermilk fried chicken with smashed potatoes and collard greens was fabulous, same with shrimp and grits. Excellent service by waiter, Darius. The owner also stopped by our table, genuinely friendly. And, check out amazing desserts in the pastry case.Wish this place were in our town here in Colorado!
Was very disappointed this time. $28 for their Brisket special for three extremely thin, fatty slices. The butter beans looked more like pinto beans, brown in color. The squash casserole was apparently cooking for a while as I tasted nothing but cheese. The seafood dip was more like seafood chowder, soupy. The 4% charge for using a card was a surprise. I get it. But should be advertised and or increase your prices a percent or two and don't charge me for using a card.
Great homemade style cooking with great tasting dishes. Prices won't break the back either. Server was super and quick with everything.
So bad- We waited about 25 minutes in the summer heat before our waitress showed up. My wife tried to order a cocktail and the waitress warned us it might not get made, which indeed it wasn’t, but they still tried to charge us for it by the end. After pointing out that we were charged for something we didn’t get and getting it fixed (about an hour and a half after arriving for a quick lunch), as I left, another employee was apologizing to another table which basically sums up our experience here.
Used to love stopping into this place while visiting Georgetown but the quality of the food appears to have decreased. At least that was my experience on 8/4/2023. I ordered the meatloaf (I’ve had this before), mac and cheese, and corn casserole. Overall, the entire meal was bad and I didn’t even finish it. The mac and cheese was dry and the corn casserole was burnt on the bottom. The meatloaf was just as unpleasant to look at as it was to eat. Our group ordered the fried pickles and fried okra to share. The okra was great but the breading on the pickles was thick and they came as one large clump.
