Root - Georgetown

The atmosphere was wonderful and the staff was particularly friendly and attentive, even as busy as it was. Tasha covered everything with a smile on her face. I tried every starter. The meatballs were so good! I was set up with quite high standards, but unfortunately the Bolognaise did not hit the sign for me.

Hands down, one of the best meals I've ever eaten. As a cook and restorer, I cannot recommend this place enough. We started with the peach Crustini and drinks the appetizer was unique and the whiskey sour was killer. My friend had the shrimp and grits and I had the pig dog over sweet potatoes. She said her geese were perfectly spiced and the cranberry sauce that came over the pork well paired. And our server Rick was also great, he was very knowledgeable and funny and made our experience even better. Like all restaurants, they are short staff and experience scarcity, but this is the current restaurant climate and that should not prevent you from going this place. They won't be disappointed.

That's a little late, my friend and I ate at Root at the end of July. We just stopped for some appetizers before dinner. Did the Caprese Bites and Peach Crostinis have them delicious and our server Rick was excellent!!!! Great place, good service, ask for Rick??

Haven?t had the food yet, but 40 minutes after the order and the kitchen staff seems to have difficulty getting orders if not even busy (seriously not busy, Buzz?s Roost is open and busy, this place is not) and we can not even catch the bartender eye to get a second drink while we wait? Two stars are generous at this point. Eat somewhere else.

Good food. Sea bass/ shrimp and gilled erdge salad was amazing. Loud in the back room.
