The Marshmallow Garden Cafe - George

Located in the botanical gardens, I have only visited this place at night during an alternative music festival that drew around 400 attendees. It was such a fantastic experience! This venue is perfect for smaller events and market days. I look forward to visiting on a regular day someday!

The menu options are quite limited, with few selections for food and drink. The seating area is decent, offering plenty of shaded outdoor spots and pleasant scenery. However, don’t be fooled by its proximity to the botanical gardens. The service was prompt and friendly. Just a heads up: avoid visiting during load shedding, as menu choices are even more restricted, and hot drinks aren’t available. It's unfortunate, but it's not the restaurant's fault.

We have seldom encountered such warm service, and when delicious dishes are added to the mix, it all becomes simply perfect. The beautiful setting of the botanical garden enhances the experience even more. Thumbs up! Greetings from the Pink Marshmallow and No Marshmallow in Germany!

Waiters and the service was all lovely, there is no fault there. The menu could do with improvement to offer healthier options/better variety as well as options other than mostly fried foods and sandwiches. The decor and furniture really needs improvement as well. The garden is pretty and drinks were nice.

Great views. Had lovely chocolate cake and coffee. Went back a few days later for lunch. The food was disgusting. Chicken strips was overcooked and dry. The chips were made out of thin crinkle cut potatoes and were soaked in oil. We landed up ordering the carrot cake and milk tart. Very disappointing.
