The Caboose - George Town

We ordered three different dishes so everyone could sample a bit of everything. I opted for the fish that had received great reviews: the coconut curry grouper. My wife chose the garlic shrimp, my daughter ordered conch fritters, and my granddaughter picked the Brac Attack Bluff burger. We also decided to try the conch soup. While we waited for our food, a small kitten kept visiting our table. The girls attempted to pet him, but he would always shy away when they got too close. Later, we managed to coax him near enough to share a little bit of our food. The conch fritters arrived quickly, served hot, and were delightfully spicy — everyone loved them. Soon after, our main dishes came out, except for the burger. The grouper was fantastic; it truly was the highlight of the evening. The shrimp were also excellent, while the soup was good — hot, spicy, and flavorful. Finally, the burger arrived and was quickly divided among us four. It was amazing and had a wonderful kick to it, earning a very close second place in our rankings. We almost ordered a second burger, as one simply wasn’t enough, but we decided against it since we were already quite full. While we dined, a local crowd came in, further confirming our choice to eat here. You absolutely have to try the grouper and the burger!

Interestingly, many of the restaurants we tried overcooked the fish, leaving it dry. However, Blossom, the chef at The Caboose, prepared the fish perfectly. The other dishes we ordered were equally impressive—make sure to try the spicy beef if it's the daily special. Symone was our server for two of our visits, and despite being busy, she was incredibly efficient and genuinely friendly. I'm typically quite selective when it comes to giving a five-star rating, but The Caboose truly deserves it. I strongly recommend giving it a try!

I had a wonderful experience trying the local cuisine with a Caymanian friend. The coconut curry grouper was fantastic! It’s definitely a standout dish for local food. And you absolutely must try the potato salad—it was amazing!

Great local food! A must to eat at Cayman Island. Had Grouper fish Cayman style oh so delicious!
