You know you 're about to have a really nice lunch as you approach the restaurant, smelling the barbecue from down the street. The restaurant is very much island style décor wise, with comfortable outdoor seating under covered thatched roofs, the theme continuing into the semi indoor (and air conditioned) bar and dining area. There are also big screen TVs for some sports watching one for soccer, one for baseball, covering both hemispheres handily. Now, to the food. One buddy had the Jamaican jerk chicken sandwich, absolutely loving the jerk flavor and the char from the grill, a great combination. My other buddy went for a grilled chicken Caesar, again featuring the chicken hot off the gril, a great way to top off a salad. For me, seeing that we 're in the islands, it was the fish and chips, which I can easily proclaim as one of the best I 've ever had, with the beautiful fresh mahi mahi inside a great, crisp batter, served with their house made tartar sauce and chips that were hotter than hot when they hit the table. Fresh fish expertly prepared, bringing a little bit of the Queen 's England to the islands. Excellent! If anything tells the story, it 's the number of locals queued up at the take away window, a constant flow of people during our time in the restaurant. 'Nuff said! BTW, a 15% gratuity is automatically added to your check but you 'll want to leave a little bit more for the excellent service.
This place is absolutely awesome. The jerk bbq chicken wings was amazing. Our server Marissa was outstanding. Very attentive and super nice. Our food was so prompt. I had a passion fruit daiquiri... lacked a little alcohol but I'm sure my liver appreciates it. This place has free wifi, big screen tv to watch the game and a great selection of food! The BBQ baby back ribs, rice and fries was to nothing short of awesome island food. I loved the ambiance and live band have a great variety. Great time to get up and dance. Raggae, soca, r&b, and much more. Love this place for lunch and or dinner. Great gem! #thankmelater!
After lots of recommendations, we decided to try this place for dinner. It was mostly seating outdoors and some indoor seating. The inside was mostly a bar. We waited for a table for 15 minutes and were then seated. We ordered the conch fritters since that's what is quite popular here. It was good...tasted like fried potatoes! I would probably get this again! We then ordered the Jamaican jerk chicken and fish and chips. The jerk chicken was definitely very well seasoned with peppers. If you love black pepper, then you would love the chicken! The chicken was tasty but also filling. I got sick of the taste after 2 bites. The fish and chips were highly recommended so that's what I got. Boy, I have never had soft battered fish before. Literally, the fish came out looking like any other fried fish. But when I held it, the batter was soft! It definitely was not crispy at all. Not sure how that came about but it was not good at all. I felt like I was eating baked fish. It was nonetheless very bland! I couldn't bare to eat another bite. Service was slow and not accommodating.
A good locals spot with Caymanian-Jamaican style food. This restaurant has outside seating and is covered with a thick thatch roofing. There is also a seating near the bar that is covered by the building. However the entire restaurant is completely open so be careful on rainy or stormy days. The servers were friendly and helpful with menu choices. The food was nicely seasoned and typical for island style cooking. We arrived on a Friday night and there was live music playing current hits and reggae/soca oldies. If you are looking for a decently priced place to enjoy island style food and drinks, this is the place for you.
Whenever I travel, I turn to Yelp for guidance. I felt as though I hit the jackpot when I discovered this place had excellent reviews and it was right across the street from our hotel. Well, it was just ok. I ordered the conch fritters and my mom and I split the jerk chicken pasta and the honey jerk wings. The conch fritters tasted a little different than what I was used to. The pasta was just ok. The honey jerk wings were the best part but I didn't really taste any jerk seasoning on them. Maybe the next time we are in the Caymans we will just get the jerk chicken. We observed many locals coming in to pick up plates. Maybe we just ordered the wrong stuff *Kanye shrug*
