Don Paolo - GENOVA

Nothing compared to the REAL Sicilian bar! The owner might be Sicilian, but his attitude and the rudeness of his family is simply a SHAME for Sicily! Hateful behavior, focused on profit by any means, crazy prices, they want to kick you outside of the dehor as soon as you finish your coffee/gelato. I highly recommend not to spend one cent to this place and to move on to the AMAZING Gelatria of San Nicola!! It's 100% worthy, the granita, gelato and kindness of this other bar is THE BEST in town!

Genova was amazing. I have always wanted to go to Italy. I got to swim in the Mediterranean Sea. The view of the coast was spectacular. We had spaghetti allo scoglio and it was beyond amazing at Paola Lelle. The view was great taking.

OK..may be I am slightly biased due to circumstances.... : November, rainy, gettin chilly, gettin dark (probaby around 5:00 pm ish and we commit a major faux pas when in Europe we waited until 'now ' to have dinner while running around the city all day long! ALAS! Pretty much everythiing is closed and wont be open for like another 3 hours! By the Grace of God we spot Bar Don Paolo trudging towards out hotel. They can 't offer us much (perhaps because they are in this in between time but they sure can make us some nice warm panninis and sit us down by the heater. Probably one of the best sanwiches I had : Sevice impeccable, folks very friendly, food delish! Would not hezitate to stop by any other time I am in Genoa

Fabulous cafeteria near the paved castelletto, the staff very friendly and helpful and the owner very friendly. Besides the wide choice between ice cream and granite, there are many typical products of the sicula tradition.
