Ok for a quick meeting or casual lunch
Quick and very courteous waiter as we only had about 45 minutes to be served and to eat. The food was great, Norwegian Salade, Chanterelle on toast, Salmon with Sorel sauce and my son's pizza had freshly carved ham as opposed to anything packaged - fast but great food. The Opera, btw, was fabulous!!
I have been coming here for years to meet friends for its very convenient location opposite my former employer's Hqs (and it also has a back door opposite the big Parking Nations). It is great in summer with its big terrace but go early for lunch as it gets very busy. Even so the service is slick. It is famous for its pizzas but it has a long and varied menu and many different (and huge) salads, one of which was ordered by my host. This time I had a delicious Feuillete of wild mushrooms as my main and Panacotta with blackberries to follow (the fruit was a bit over-sweet for my taste). We drank a small carafe of rose from Provence which was ideal with our choice of food.I really like this place and the prices are very reasonable for where it is.
The evening we are at the Tivoli we were to go and see Falstaff at the Opera, right in front of the restaurant. We realized when served that we had to leave to attend the play. Even though we had paid but not said we would come back, the waiter and the cook put our food in the fridge and at the break, we came back to order new food. What a surprise, our food was waiting for us! We ate and when we were to leave a thunderstorm broke, we had no umbrella. No problem the waiter gave us one for us not to be wet. Isn't that pure kindness? I brought back the umbrella the next day and was welcomed with a broad smile. Daily, good and Simple food BUT what a service!
